Flying Wheelchair (Flai'r)

Problem Statement

Most DIY or open-source aviation projects are based on modifications of existing blueprints. There was a lack of original, ground-up engineered solutions tailored specifically for paragliding applications. The challenge was to design and fabricate a custom chassis that could securely hold a harness and safely connect to a paraglider for both tandem and solo flights.

About Flying Wheelchair (Flai'r)

Solution

This project involved the complete construction of a new chassis, built from scratch (not adapted from any open-source design), intended to: Fit a standard paragliding harness Offer modularity and balance for both solo and tandem configurations Ensure lightweight yet durable construction for airworthiness It required structural engineering from first principles, testing for flight stability, and adaptation to paragliding dynamics.
