Problem Statement

Air quality and environmental conditions like UV levels, humidity, temperature, CO₂ and VOCs are rarely monitored in real time across multiple locations. Single-point sensors give incomplete data, and people have no easy way to know what the air around them is actually like. These single-point sensors are also extremely expensive, and they only give data in one location, not showing the difference in these levels in different areas. Moreover, the weather app shows data of the whole city instead of specific locations.

About Pollution_Monitor

Solution

  A network of ESP32-based sensor nodes that each measure temperature, humidity, CO₂, VOC, heat index and UV levels. Each node transmits its data wirelessly to a central system which displays live readings to users using the ESP-NOW protocol. An interactive map shows all active nodes and their readings, giving a complete picture of environmental conditions across multiple locations in real time. 

Additional Info

Inspired by the lack of accessible, multi-point air quality data in everyday environments. Future goals include adding more sensor types, increasing node range, building a mobile app for alerts when readings cross dangerous thresholds, and deploying nodes across larger areas like campuses or cities.
