Skyloop v1.2

Problem Statement

Patients undergoing motor skill rehabilitation often struggle with motivation, concentration, and progress tracking. Traditional therapy tools lack engaging, gamified experiences that promote both mental focus and physical coordination. This project aims to make therapy more engaging and measurable through drone-based interaction.

About Skyloop v1.2

Solution

The final prototype is an ESP-based system equipped with a VL53L0X Time-of-Flight sensor to detect when a drone passes through the hoop. The system: Starts with a green LED, Blinks red to signal the start of the game, Begins a 3-minute countdown once triggered, Tracks the number of successful passes and updates a scoreboard. This tool is ideal for rehabilitation settings, combining play with progress tracking.

Additional Info

Idea: This is an evolved version of the Sky Loops project, featuring gamification elements like: Scoreboards to track performance, RGB LED cues (green to start, blinking red to signal action), A hoop that detects drone passage, Visual indicators to prompt player responses, making therapy interactive and fun for users. Objectives of the Project: Improve engagement through gamified checkpoints using lights and timers. Develop fine motor control and precision flying using drones. Display real-time score and countdown to motivate users. Integrate visual feedback cues that reflect drone movement through the hoop.
